As a specie, Homo Sapien Sapien, we have truly gone
over and beyond from what our predecessors were. From scavenging primates to
highly digitalized individuals. The process had its ups and downs, taking a thousand
years to even stand where we are right now as humans and as a collective
society.
Through this long and strenuous process, aside from
our crafty hands, the other mechanism of our evolution is not an object but an
innate ability has that has served as the jet fuel to our progress, the power
of communication, our letters and words, joined together to become the bridge
of our past and into the future. From the oldest cave paintings, that were
found in La Pasiega Cave in Spain that signified our ancestors trying to use
letter-like prints on the walls to individuals of the digital text. We have
gone further than what we were then.
In today’s time, the once written word has now became
digitalized, spread to every nation of the world with more than a million
people per day having access to that singular information, and with each day,
millions of digitalized texts, are being uploaded into the cloud for people to
have access to. A million of information per second is bombarded into our
stratosphere, the marginal logistics of such is immensely incomprehensible.
But with this abundant light of information, is the
dark shadow of falsification and fraudulent information that corrupts and bugs
the system. And like a shadow, it is able to mirror itself with the real
information. The problem now arises as a huge number of individuals believe the
shadow; they are immediately dragged to that darkness. Society’s lack of
empathy towards information filtration has became a disease that continuous to
plague society and will continually plague society for the coming years unless
something immediate will be done to intervene and stop such a trend of
believing to the lies that the information world has come to offer.
The reality of society is that those who live to
spread wrong information would always exist, the means to eradicate them is
near to difficult, thus the only way is to educate the public and unsubscribe
to such individuals. Society, the public, especially the young ones who are
more submerged to the digital world should be taught that empathic ability to
distinguish the truth from the mere replication and complete fraudulent
information. Teaching the public these would mitigate and lessen people
subscribing to immediately believing what they see. They should be taught to
sieve through these vast seas of information available in the cloud as these
would lead to much more informed and knowledgeable people rather than people
who walk around with false information flowing in their cerebral fluids.
